Events in Facebook are one of its best features, but the site and official app only allows for a fairly rudimentary invite and RSVP system. The aim of Usher by MicroStrategy (to give it its full title) is to give you more power in managing guests coming to a large event, such as a private party at a nightclub where doormen control entry. Creating events and selecting guests is easy, and the Agenda/Calendar views will help you manage multiple events. Usher’s real boon is the mobile ticketing system, where you can send unique codes to friends for priority entry, and the fact you can log in to usher.com to print off an up-to-the-minute guest-list. It takes effort to make use of this app effectively and it’s only suitable if you’re planning a large-scale event, but we applaud its development of Facebook Events.
