“Flawed, but the few stand-out events, combined with single-player cups and a multiplayer mode, ensures value for money.”

If only popular sports required just a single finger to succeed, we’d be world champions — or so Flick Champions HD would have us believe. This collection of mini-games attempts to distill the essence of eight popular sports into simple flick-based arcade games, and it does so with some success. Soccer is akin to magnetic table football games, but the players shift after every goal, and a timer forces quick shots. It’s amusing, if random. The overhead archery game also appeals, with nice graphics and an intuitive aim mechanism, while turning bowling into shove ha’penny is an interesting idea that works surprisingly well.
Other events are less effective, due to being dull (basketball), too easy (air hockey-like tennis) or plain broken (golf, where the computer always plays the same shots). Still, you get plenty here for your cash, and a two-player option saves even the poorest events.
