“The best iOS app we've seen for capturing stunning panoramas. Essential for anyone with an iPhone.”

A stunning view is rarely done justice by a single photo, hence the emergence of the panorama shot. When iOS came along, plenty of developers decided to have a bash at creating an app to do that on the iPhone. However, Photosynth is by far the best combination of ease of use and great results that we've seen so far.
It works best on the iPhone 4 or fourth-generation iPod touch, thanks to their built-in gyroscopes, which help massively. It'll even work with the iPad 2, but it's not a proper Universal app.
All you do is point your camera at the panorama and pan slowly across it. The app helps you position the shot just right using a colour-coding system. When it's in the right place, it snaps the next image for you automatically. We got the best results by letting each new shot overlap the old one by about 50%.
When you're done, you can pan around your panorama in the app, view it as a flat image in your Camera Roll or upload to Photosynth.net. A must-have app for anyone.
