Games

  • Not what we expected, and it might well nonplus brawler fans, but this is an elegant, charming game that feels very much at home on iOS.

  • Repulze tests reflexes and concentration with its occasionally overwhelming fast action gameplay, which could use some balancing in earlier levels.

  • The racing’s entertaining – once you realise you have to drive like a fruitcake – but the game’s structure means it sometimes risks becoming a Motorbore.

  • Speed, skill and – most of all – precision mix to excavate an inventive take on treasure-hoovering puzzles.

  • Playable and pretty, but short, uneven and too familiar, a bit like a sequel to a favourite movie with shinier stars that occasionally fall over.

  • Great art and some genuinely inventive ideas aren’t enough to counter the horrible controls that mire this game in mediocrity.

  • Zelda/Rogue fans will delight in this 8-bit dungeon puzzler, but it’s not for everyone.

  • The gameplay’s relatively solid, but there’s not enough originality here to grab your attention along with the titular beasties.
