Apps

  • Get this and you’ll never have to buy another ambient LP ever again! Scape’s a great source of everlasting late night soundcapes, although the ugly graphics might get your goat.

  • A moderately entertaining audio toy with sharp looks, but you’d be hard pushed to use BeatSpiral to produce any actual music.

  • A time-saving app for those that use Facebook and Twitter equally, but it’s undone by some sloppy elements.

  • A very impressive demonstration of what is possible with augmented reality which will astonish pre-schoolers when first bought, but may not have lasting appeal.

  • Napster’s got all the right bits and pieces, but the way they’re put together is confusing, slightly buggy, and just not worth going for over the competition.

  • An impressively modern catalogue, but not a comprehensive one. That, and a few teething problems, make its monthly price seem too high.

  • A hugely useful wireframe design tool that works well for creating page layout ideas, with flexible export options.

  • We hate to do it to the obviously passionate devs, but the lack of browsing and imperfect release date data means it’s a miss.
